Eyre Peninsula Integrated Commodities (EPIC) is a new business designed and owned by Chris and Tracey Lehmann, grain traders based at Kimba on the Eyre Peninsula. The business of Lehmann Contractors owned by Chris Lehmann has successfully traded grain on the domestic market in Australia for over 20 years.

EPIC is the platform that introduces buyer to seller. The concept is competitive, however, will complement existing businesses. EPIC is not an advisory service, it simply facilitates through trade match and tender processes. That is, it trade match buyers to sellers (growers) and vice versa, providing a means of price discovery for both growers and buyers on the Eyre Peninsula.

The EPIC website is not transactional in that it does not execute the actual sales transactions. Transactions are conducted between the grower and buyer once the grower and buyer have agreed on a price. The role of the website is more to establish relevant and timely demand and supply information for each commodity.

EPIC's objective is to support multi commodities through the service. Initially, two projects have been identified. They are the ‘GrainXchange’ and ‘Transport Logistics’. New projects will

evolve as opportunities arise. An advisory board of farmers located on the Eyre Peninsula will be employed by the company to work within the community at identifying new business opportunities.

EPIC is committed to providing the website for minimal cost for all users.

A Forum will promote feedback from growers and buyers on the site. Our publication ‘What you need to know ’ will allow industry leaders to reveal information to registered users of the site. Sponsors of ‘What you need to know’ will be encouraged from insurance, finance, accounting and political sectors. It is intended for this to be a ‘much sought after ’publication.
